This is a Chawan, a bowl for drinking tea. Of course you can drink coffee out of it as well.
The outside has a Temmoku style glaze, while the inside is cream coloured. Made from Terracotta. It was bisque fired, glazed and finally fired to about 1000°C to create the beautiful glaze.
